Information for GVS Families and Community Members (Feb 3, 2025)

Dear Families and Community Members,

We understand that recent federal directives may have raised concerns about potential immigration enforcement actions in schools. Please be assured that Grantham Village School is dedicated to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for all students.

Our district policies are designed to protect every student's safety, privacy, and rights. These policies require non-local law enforcement personnel and outside agency personnel to provide proper identification and legal documentation, such as a warrant or court order, before entering school property or interacting with students. We will continue to carefully review all requests from non-local law enforcement and outside agencies, adhere to all legal requirements, and prioritize our schools as safe spaces for all students.

You can view all of our District policies HERE. Should you have any questions about our District policies, please feel free to reach out. If you have questions about resources, please contact Principal Reed. Should you require legal assistance, we encourage you to consult with an attorney or legal professional.

We are committed to ensuring all our students, your children, are safe while at Grantham Village School.

Sincerely,

Lisa A. Walker                                    Kristen Reed
